Everyone eats. Everyone makes food choices and is a part of the food economy. We all vote and create the food cultures that we live in every day. And many of us don't think or talk about food very often at all.
People, companies, organizations, farmers and politicians around the country are doing amazing work to improve their local food systems. Between fighting hunger and obesity, improving access to nutritious foods, and promoting healthy agriculture, these great champions are not often able to sit down together at the same table and talk about what the GOAL is that we are all working toward. We know the current global food system has developed over the past 30 years to leave 1 billion of us hungry and 1 billion of us overweight, so we need a long-term, 30-year vision of what a better food system will look like, so we can work together better to get there. Our dinners, in communities around America and eventually the world, gather the food system stakeholders to a local, sustainable dinner to share in their region's bounty, share knowledge and ideas, discuss their vision for what a better food system would look like 30 years from now.
The 30 Project is the means to crowd-source and coalesce that vision from the people on the ground who will make it a reality!
